The Delhi riots have attracted global
criticism for India. With the death of 53 Indians, many countries in the world have accused India
of mass genocide of minorities. The Trump visit has highlighted the mishap
around the globe. It has turned out to be a great embarrassment for the country
which can not be justified. India has reiterated it’s jargon and called it an internal
matter. However, in this globalized world, global equations alter by internal

India's Gandhian values and secular set-up has
always brought a great source of soft-power for the country. However, the
present allegedly right government differs the way. After the riots set the
capital ablaze many Islamic countries including Pakistan, Iran, Turkey,
Malaysia and even Bangladesh; organizations like US commission for International
Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and the Organization
for Islamic Corporation (OIC) have made strong comments against India.
Clearly, the notoriety India has developed for years is on stake.
The world understands that the riots which
unfolded in Northeast Delhi were not a communal crash. If it would have been,
the Police and the security forces were well capable to chop it off. The door
was set open to get the situation worse. It was undoubtedly a targeted attempt on
the people of a community. Iran external affairs minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif
condemned the violence and called it ‘organized violence against Indian
Muslims' and appealed the Indian authorities to “not let senseless thuggery” prevail.

After the nationwide anti-CAA protests,
there has been a constant attempt to divide people through speeches and media.
People are becoming xenophobic. The government has no response for their demand
and they are often projected as anti-national mob. The values over which this
nation perch are not fragile enough to crack down through such attempts, though
these are powerful enough to make the nation lose its glory.
India however have had a global set-back. These riots have certainly tainted India's stand on Kashmir as well. India has kept the Kashmir region on a lock down since August 5th, after the abrogation of article of 370. Moreover, CAA is also seen India drifting away from the secular values. India has also droped in its rank in the democracy index to 51. These riots could have been easily averted.
India has an
ambitious goals, it is seeking for permanent membership in united nations general assembly. Its a blooming economy and it needs to establish its coin in the much competitive world. We
have to ensure bright future of 1.3 billions of us. We need to come out of the cliche politics of appeasement. We need not to divide but rise the masses through education. The repetition of any such unfortunate incident would result in irreparable loss in India's good will and soft power across the globe.
